Residenzpflicht

RESIDENZPFLICHT [residence requirement] was an internationally announced artist-in-residence program organized by msk7.
Ten grants were awarded for one-month stays in ten refugee shelters in Berlin.

The newly built “modular shelters” for refugees were temporarily expanded, on a rotating basis, to include a mobile module in which 10 selected artists lived and worked for one month.

The goal of the project was to temporarily open up these self-contained refugee shelters to approaches and developments in contemporary art.
